Labeled Skeleton and Bone 

Yellow Bone Marrow -  A piece inside the bone that is yellow because of the fat cells it contains and it produces some white blood cells.

 

Red Bone Marrow - Responsible for producing a number of red blood cells and white blood cells. It is located in the Spongy Bone.

 

Spongy Bone - Contains Red Bone Marrow and helps transport nutrients within the bone.

 

Fiberous Connective Tissue - A shell or protective layer outside of the bone.

 

Central Cavity - A tube in the middle of the bone that holds the Yellow Bone Marrow.

 

Cartilage - Provides a soft cushion for the bone to move on while not grinding the bone itself.

 

Blood Vessels- A tube that transports nutrients to and from the bone.

 

Compact Bone - Dense bone
