Functions of the Skeleton System and How it Maintains Homeostais

There are 6 main functions of the skeleton system. Each of these functions work together to help maintain homeostasis and keep your body functioning correctly. The first function is support. Your skelton is the system that givesyour body shape. The next function is protection. Your skeleton also protects your vital organs from harm and damage that may be caused to them. Movement is another function that helps you live your everyday life. Your bones store minerals, like calcium, that can be used throughout your body and released into your blood. This is called mineral homeostasis, another function the skeeton provides. The skeleton is also responsible for blood cell production. The red blood marrow is the materiel tat actualy created the blood cells and other minerals. The last function is storage. Your bones have the ability to store important nutrients like calcium, phosphorus, and even fat. You may think that the skeleton only performs a few actions to keep you alive, but in actuality, it does way more than you think.
